The United States is a global water polo powerhouse, with USA Water Polo (USAWP) overseeing a thriving competitive scene from youth clubs to the Olympic stage. NCAA programs at Stanford, USC, UCLA, and Cal Berkeley produce world-class drivers, hole sets, and 2-meter defenders every year. 7 players per team in the water: 1 goalkeeper and 6 field players. Each team also has substitutes on the bench.
